E-1027 is named after one of Nathalie’s favourite modernist houses. This one situated in Roquebrune in the South of France. The house was designed by Eileen Gray in collaboration with her then lover Jean Badovici.
The name is a code for both of their names:
E for Eileen,
The number 10 for “J” for Jean (the tenth letter in the alphabet)
The number 2 for “B” for Badovici (the second letter in the alphabet)
and finally 7 for “G” for Gray (the seventh letter in the alphabet)
The print was featured in the Chanel 4 TV program in the UK – George Clarke’s Old House, New Home.
This is also available fully framed (£850 inclusive of framing). Please contact me directly for further information. Local pickup only for this as it is quite large!
